Workshop Titled “Is Another Digital Possible?” Held in Cooperation with Our Department

The event titled “Is Another Digital Possible?”, organized in cooperation between the
International Communication and Media Research Center operating under Turkish-
German University and the Department of Culture and Communication Sciences,
was held on April 13, 2026, at the Creative Media Laboratory YAMEDLAB.
Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Posos Devrani, the event featured Esra Özgür,
founder of Dijital Esenlik, as the speaker. Within the scope of the program, the digital
media ecosystem was approached from a critical perspective, and the transformation
of individuals’ relationships with digital environments was addressed.
Conducted in a workshop format, the event included discussions on technological
literacy, digital awareness, and future foresight. Participants had the opportunity to
discuss the individual and societal impacts of digitalization, while also engaging in
reflection and production of alternative digital scenarios within the framework of
futures studies and foresight.
The event concluded with the sharing of evaluations on the sustainability and ethical
dimensions of digital culture, supported by participants’ contributions.
