Research Assistant İrem Dölen of Our Department Successfully Defends Master's Thesis

İrem Dölen, a student of our International Communication and Media Research
(ICMR) Master's Program and research assistant of our department, successfully
defended her thesis titled ''Strategic Social Media Use under Algorithmic Curation: A
Comparative Study of Student Practices in Turkey and Germany'' on May 22, 2026.
The defense jury consisted of Prof. Dr. Kerem Rızvanoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of
Communication at Galatasaray University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Posos Devrani, Head
of the Communication Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. (ÜAK) Başak Kaptan Şiray;
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Büşra Fadim Sarıkaya; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Burak Polat from the
Department of Journalism at Marmara University.
