Research Assistant Dr. Muhammed Oğuzhan Güner Held a Colloquium at Leipzig University as Part of a DAAD-Funded Research Visit

Dr. Muhammed Oğuzhan Güner, a research assistant in the Department of Culture and Communication Studies, held a colloquium at the Department of Cultural Studies at Leipzig University during his research visit to Germany in the summer semester of 2026, which was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

At the invitation of the chair holder Prof. Dr. Hannes Kraemer, Güner presented his research entitled “Praktiken des Bleibens im deutschen Migrationsregime” (Practices of Staying in the German Migration Regime). The presentation examined the different phases of transformation in German migration policy, with a particular focus on Turkish migrants and its historical development.

The event concluded with a question-and-answer and discussion session, during which participants also explored possibilities for future academic cooperation.
