“Digital Media Workshop” Held in Cooperation with the Department of Culture and Communication Sciences

The event titled “History of Communication Science” was organized by the
Department of Culture and Communication Sciences and held on Monday, 23 March
at 11:00 at the Conference Hall of the School of Foreign Languages.
The event featured a lecture by Dr. Karin Kolb from the Institute of Communication
Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. In the presentation titled “On the Self-
Image of German-Speaking Communication Science and the Relevance of a
Communication Science Problem System,” the institutional and theoretical
development of communication science in German-speaking contexts, as well as the
key problem areas of the discipline, were addressed.
The session was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Robin Andre Kurilla. The event
provided an academic platform for discussing the historical development of
communication science, its self-positioning as a discipline, and its contemporary
research directions.
